Making Connections®
Direct instruction for comprehension skills and strategies
by Alison Dewsbury, Kay Kovales
Grades 1–6

COMING SOON: Making Connections Intervention for middle school LEARN MORE »

Help all your students—even the most reluctant ones—increase comprehension and become motivated and active readers!

Using delightfully illustrated, high-interest narrative and informational reading material of diverse genres, this interactive reading comprehension program hones the essential skills and strategies recommended by the National Reading Panel—and reinforces them in a spiraling curriculum format.

Unlike most other programs on the market, Making Connections provides multiple thematic reading selections for each skill, allowing students to build content knowledge while giving teachers the perfect framework for scaffolded instruction. This multiple selection format allows teachers to withdraw support gradually from selection to selection, as students gain confidence in using comprehension strategies flexibly and independently.
