The Program Guide for Student Book 4 has a table of contents that lists the concepts covered. The instructions for each lesson are divided into 5 or 6 subtopics, which may include dictionary and reference skills, new learning, reading, spelling, spelling with writing, closure and practice, reading comprehension, and review. The emphasis of the lesson and its application are detailed. A list of materials needed for each lesson is also provided. A glossary of terms used for instruction is provided in the back of the guide.
